Subject: Severe Breast Tenderness
IP: Logged

Message:
I'm hoping someone can give me some advise. I'm 42 and I suffer from Severe breast tenderness 3 weeks out of every month. I have (about) 1 week after my period where they aren't feeling so badly. Then as soon as I ovulate, boom, I hurt so badly, especially the nipple area. It hurts to raise my arms, sleep on my side and forget about lying on my stomach! I see my OBGYN regularly. I have not been diagnosed with any kind of breast problems. They just tell me it's my hormones. Well, I'm miserable. 3 weeks out of the month is alot to feel breast pain. I'm not oversized by far, only a small B cup. Even when I was taking Birth Control pills it didn't help much. I don't know what to do. Any and all advise is very welcome and thank you so much.Valerie

Valerie-You may have just found your answer! Many women have found that by using Resonance Natural Progesterone Cream they can balance their bodies - thereby alleviating breast tenderness and many other symptoms of PMS. Dr. Lee and others advise starting with 1/8 t. of cream from days 15 - 26 of your cycle. Try that for a couple of months and let us know how you do. It's worked wonders for lots of us. Good luck.

I suggest eliminating caffeine, chocolate, cheese & nuts. The first time I had severe breast pain, I was drinking a LOT of coffee and a dr. told me to stop. No more pain. Later had problems again and another dr. brought up the other items. If I keep them out of my diet, I pretty much don't have problems.

Wow! I didn't realize there was other women who experience the same thing as me. I first noticed the tenderness after my 2nd son. It became so bad that I have to put my breasts on ice packs to keep them numb and sometimes can barely walk for fear of movement to make it worse. I am 23 and have had this problem since I was 19. I have been told that I have "lumpy breasts" which I guess means I have cysts, but have never been told anything more. Please any info or feedback would be greatly appreciated...I have this problem about three weeks out of every month. :(

I guess it's nice to know that I am not alone with this. I can't believe that at my age I am still dealing with this. I am 51 yrs. old and went 14 months without a period, thinking I was in to menopause. Then.....I starting getting my periods regulary again. False alarm I guess. Can't wait to go through the change and finally put this breast tenderness thing behind me. What makes matters worse (I think) is the fact that I am a size 38DDD!!! I would like to hear more about this Resonance Natural Progesterone Cream, and if anyone has had luck using it?

I have lots of lumps in my breasts, i know most are normal but im not sure if they all are. Its mostly the bottom half of my right breast that hurts. My nipple feels like a rock, its hard and hurts really badly. My breast is all swollen underneath im not sure if its just pms, or something else. How can I tell? And i dont wanna have to see a doctor.

I have had severe breast tenderness since I first started my period at 13. My Mom told me about these herbs called Black Cohosh, vitamin E, Wild Yam, Evening Primrose Oil, and Dong Quai. About two weeks before I get my period I begin the treatment. I take the Black Cohosh and Wild yam supplements along with Vitamin E (400 IU's) a day. After a shower or bath I rub the evening primrose oil on and I drink the dong quai tea. I noticed a drastic change almost immediately after I started this. I have not had ANY problems since. I swear by this!

My aunt just died of breast cancer 2 years ago.

I used to have breast tenderness almost every month prior to starting my period. Now, ever since I had a miscarriage in January (approx. 16 weeks along), I do not have ANY tenderness at all. I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this to be the case. If so, I hope it is not anything to be concerned about? My husband and I are trying to get pregnant again, and I am hoping this doesn't signify any major changes in my hormone levels that could decrease our chances. The doctors did not seem to think that a hormonal imbalance caused my miscarriage, but - as I have assumed up to now that this is nothing to be concerned about - I have not mentioned this change to them. Does anyone have any opinions on this matter? We have been trying to get pregnant again since March of this year to no avail, so.....Just curious. Thanks!

i am 42 years old and have developed severe breast tenderness that inhibits my activity. it starts a week after my period and continues until the next period. i remember feeling this way prior to having my children. my children are spaced apart by about 5-6 years each. it seems like for 4 years after the birth of each child i would be pain free--until the next child...now i am done and my youngest is 6, it seems that i have pain 3 out of 4 weeks and it is annoying. i do drink caffeine because i work night shift, but could this be more hormonal than caffeine related. i am an ob/gyn nurse and no other women i know have experienced this, any insight is helpful...

I have had severe breast pain in my left breast and under my left arm pit for about a year now. I am only 27 years old. I had my first child in early 2001. I always held her on my left hip (until the pain started)while doing chores and shopping, etc. I thought this may have caused the pain. But since it has been going on for a year after I stopped holding her on that side I just dont know. I had a mammogram a year ago and it showed nothing but the pain is still there. I have been on birth control for about 10 years (Mircette) and have decided to stop taking it and see if that helps. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this before? Let me know to calm my nerves! THANKS!

I am almost 30, I have been suffering with tender breast for a couple of weeks now. I also feel sharp lightning pains run through both my breast. The closes description is the kind of uncomfortableness you would feel after giving birth and developing milk. There is a 99.9% chance that I would not come out pregnant since my husband had a vasectomy done a year ago. Also my menstrual cycles have been more irregular than usual these last few months. I did take a home pregnancy test and it came out negative. If anyone has a suggestion of what it could be, I would love to hear it.

I am 47 and am having similar problems with my breasts. I also had gone a number of months without my period and then it came back with a vengeance also spotting inbetween and lots of blood clotting. I have spoken to my doctor , who suggested for me to try evening primrose oil. Also I have read in a health book that excessive consumption of fat, salt, and/or caffeine(chocolate); hormonal imbalance; menopause; premenstrual syndrome; stress. I also found that wearing a better support bra helped by lifting up and pushing in against slightly seemed to help some. I have only been taking the evening primrose about 2 days, so I will let you know if it seems to help.

I wrote on this approximately 2 weeks ago. I have been taking Evening Primrose Oil for 2 weeks now and have not had anymore sore breasts/nipples. Also at this point the spotting inbetween periods has stopped. So far I am quite please with using this much more natural method instead of birth control pills or hormone pills. Will keep you abreast (ha! ha! ha!) as to how things go.

I am delighted to have found this website. About 3 years ago I found a large hard lump in my right breast, I consulted my doctor who then referred me to the hospital to get it checked. The hospital gave me the option to have it removed, I decided this would be a good idea, so I had the op done in september of last year, it was fairly simple and I thought that was it, the end of lumpy breasts! I shouldnt have bothered because 1 year down the line the lump is back in the same place I had it before, the surgeon who carried out the op informed me this could happen, he said there was no guarantee that the lump would not come back again. I went ahead anyway but never really gained anything out of it. I would like more information on Fibro Cystic Disease, how it happens in the first place, any measures that can be taken to keep it at a minimum, anything at all!

I am 29 years old, I have an 11 year old and a 6 year old. My first birth was a C Section, my second was a normal birth, I do not have any other medical problems apart from Fibro Cystic Disease. Any information on the subject would be grately appreciated!

I have found out that the possible reason for the pains I am getting is cause of horomones. I noticed that I get the pain a week before I am going to have my period. I had a sonogram done and it showed that everything was fine. I hope that everything is well with you.

I am a 20 going on 21 year old girl. Around November was the first time my breasts starting getting sore do to my peroid. I knew my mother had this happen to her every month so I thought it was normal to have happen. But recently they have decided to just continue paning. Its been three weeks since I've hand any relief. They hurt all around, top and bottom, through and through. The left one hurts mostly on the bottom left side and there is a big lump, also my nipple is inverted. The right one hurts like a stabbing pain in and around my nipple. I already live a healthy, caffeine free life. I am not over weight and mostly stick to fruits and veggies. I don't know what to do to make the pain go away. Should I go to the doctor? I do have large, lumpy breasts anyway, dose that factor in? If anyone can give me any advice it would be greatly appreacited. thank you again.
